ch-02-istock_000002847535.jpgImagine a person you could go to see and get everything you needed. Notice I said “needed” and not “wanted.” That was the experience of people in the spiritual allegory, “The Peace-of-the-People: The path of unconditional love.

Oh yes, many people arrived at the meeting place with a list of what they thought they needed to be happy. There were lots of questions and rambling on at each gathering with the Wise and Wonderful Person known among them as the Peace-of-the-People. But what they left with was not more things! What each person received was what each one longed for and didn’t know how to get – inner peace.

As the story continues, the people eventually learn how to create this inner peace for themselves. You might call this a spiritual awakening or living in your soul consciousness. You can access inner peace through centering techniques, breathing, and meditation.

Exercises like journaling and visualization also take you out of your thinking head and into your inner heart space. If you’re not sure how to do this or want a refresher, go to the section called “Savor the Experience” at the end of the story. This story is one of 13 spiritual allegories in Pathways: Tales for the Spiritual Seeker.
