I found it when I googled the name "everyday mystic" because I wanted to call a future blog by the same name. Oh well, there is an infinite supply of good names out there! Now, about that great sadness. One day at a very low point in my life in my early 20's, when I was overcome with my own black moods, I heard a powerful inner voice say to me three times, "I am the light." I was staying with a friend at the time and I was alone in her living room. As I heard the words, "I am the light," I was prompted to get up from the sofa and go to her bookshelf and open a book I had never seen before. The page I opened to it at that very moment held a quote from the bible. It said, "I am the light. So we all are, the evershining." The synchonicity was so powerful I just about fell over. It was then just the beginning of many mystical experiences in my life. Unfortunately, the darkness would descend on my life many other times but in each instance the light would appear to nourish me and light my path once again.
