Sparrows are small and swift, nothing colorful or fancy, but they flourish! Whenever the sparrows are taking turns in your birdbath or sitting around the rim as companions and buddies, take notice.

In that moment, allow yourself to walk through a spiritual exercise that anyone can do.

  • Relax into stillness and allow yourself to enter the sacred space of your soul consciousness.
  • Recall the scripture verse that says: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26)
  • Sit in that feeling of trust in a Higher Power and gratitude for the wellbeing you already have.
  • Recall any issue or struggle you’re going through and worried about.
  • Release that into the hands of “your heavenly Father” or Higher Power with an intention like this: “I don’t know how it’s going to happen or when — I believe and trust that it is being taken care of, and all is well.”
  • Sit in the feeling of “all is well” and allow the peace and strength of that experience to come to you.
  • When you’re ready, gently come back to whatever you were doing and bring with you the grounding, trust, and strength of that short reflection.

Whether you’re an avid bird watcher or someone who glances out the window now and then, whenever you see a bird, especially a sparrow, walk through this quick and easy spiritual exercise. You’ll find it relieves stress and puts you back into the big picture of life.

What is your experience with birds, especially sparrows? Have you found some bit of wisdom and new awareness in this information? Please drop a line in the response box below (or click on the comment link in Facebook) and share your thoughts with us.
