Bees – do you avoid them or welcome them as symbols of the sweetness in life, and a reminder of how to accomplish the impossible?

Do you taste the sweetness in the day-to-day things of the present moment? Can you take time out to smell the air after the rain, or catch the glow of a sunset? Do you pause and listen when the birds chit chat, or children cycle down your street? Do you savor a glass of cool water on a hot afternoon, or hug a warm blanket by the fireplace on a cold night?

Where is the sweetness in pursuing your dreams? As you know so well, dreams don’t just show up – you put some effort and planning into them. Like the bees, you’re busy and productive. But do you take time off for vacations, weekends, holidays, or are you a workaholic? Do your dreams build hope in your heart or frustration and anxiety? Do you believe the impossible can still happen – even in your own life?

Bees are not supposed to be able to fly with a body too large for its small wings. But their rapid wing movement gets them airborne and on their way to their sweet destination, as if to say “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

The next time something is buzzing around you, take a look and see if it’s a bee. If it is, consider yourself blessed with a “sweet” omen. Give it some space and savor the next thought, feeling or experience coming your way.

Then take a deep breath and breathe hope and courage back into your dreams.
