“Not all sicknesses and injuries were obvious to the people in the town. There were times when they didn’t know what was happening to them — only that something seemed strangely different. That’s the way it was the year when the great sadness came into the land.”
This story unfolds in the spiritual allegory, “The Light Within: the path of connecting to source.” (Pathways: Tales for the Spiritual Seeker)
At some time or another, many of us have felt a sadness creep into our lives. A lingering illness, a traumatic experience, grief over losing someone we deeply loved.
As in the story, so too in our lives there are Healers who bring hope. We may not have named them that! But a phone call, a meal shared together, some unexpected cash slipped into our hands were a bit of encouragement and hope when we needed it the most.
In the day-to-day ups and downs of life, the most consistent hope and healing is already with us. In the story the Healer said to the people, “With every breath you take, say to yourself, ‘The light is always with me.’”
Remember your Source. Renew your connection to All-That-Is. Refresh your relationship with the Divine. Then all is well all the time. The Light is always with you.
