This document, approved by Congress on July 4, 1776, declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. But what’s spiritual about this federal holiday?

It’s right here in some of the most memorized and quoted lines:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

In today’s inclusive language, that means everyone – men, women, and children are created equal. And everyone, regardless of race or creed has these inalienable rights.

In everyday spirituality, we recognize that everyone around the world is entitled to this same equality and these inalienable rights.

People have many traditional ways of celebrating this federal holiday in the United States.

But here’s a spiritual challenge to anyone in the USA or abroad, when you are celebrating your country’s independence day:

1. Be aware of the needs for equality and these inalienable rights in your neighborhood, city, or region.

2. Find a person or an organization promoting equality, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for others.

3. Ask them what they need to grow their services and extend their reach out efforts.

4. Get involved in any way you can.

Whatever you choose to do will have a profound influence on the human family. With your awareness and your involvement, you bring one more light into the dark corners of injustice, persecution, and suffering. Take your light and let it shine!

I think this msg is for all humanity, not just for Americans. We all are connected through each other, as we all have originated from same source.

It doesn’t matter which from which cast, religion, race, nationality, we belong to, our first identity is we all are human beings, rather I should say we all are beings on this planet, we should have same rights without any discrimination, and that can be called true spirituality.
