The ugly duckling could have continued to think, feel, and live like an ugly duckling the rest of its life.

But, like for all of us, the opportunity came to get a good look at itself.

The transformation came not just in looking, but in also accepting the beauty and grace of a swan as its true identity.

You may think your abundance and prosperity is very much like a flock of ugly ducklings unable to fly, and soon to be stuck in the mud with the lake quickly emptying out around you.

Let’s take a quick look at what is still left in your pond and see if we can find what it takes to claim the image and amenities of a swan.

First, become aware that abundance means something overflowing or plentiful. Where is the plenty and the overflowing showing up in your life?
• Is your garden full of weeds? Can you pivot out of negative reactivity and get excited about how many birds and critters might be able to live off of that vegetation? Can you even appreciate the weeds as ground cover keeping the soil from eroding and holding in moisture during times of drought?
• Is your closet chock full of clothes and shoes you don’t wear anymore? Can you be grateful for the money you had at one time to buy all this? Can you imagine someone being happy to receive your hand-me-downs at various collection sites for charity and relief for the less fortunate?

As you become aware of what you do have, give thanks for how you received it. Appreciate that you were taken care of in your time of need. In gratitude, move forward, reach out and share what you have. Make room for the new and upgraded gifts that are already on their way to you.

Second, prosperity means good fortune and well-being in mind, body, and spirit. It means having everything you need to be healthy, wealthy, and wise and to still have more to share with others. Here’s how to increase your well-being:
• Count your blessings. Start a gratitude journal and write down 5 different things every day that you are grateful for.
• Be aware of what you do have. Count yourself blessed to have a roof over your head, food in the cupboard, and running water. There are millions of people who don’t get even a handful of rice once a day! There are people around the world who don’t have two healthy legs and feet!
• Be open to receive more of what you need. Pay attention and accept however it wants to come to you: a job change, relocation, downsizing to save costs on housing or utilities, trading in a vehicle too expensive to maintain.
• Ask for clarity and listen carefully. Make sure that what you are hearing is not what you want to hear but what you need to hear.
• Check out your intuition and information with your closest friends who dearly love you and want to see you succeed. Get their input and feedback on how practical and wise your suggestions are for your situation.
• Respond as quickly as possible to the guidance coming your way. This validates you are listening and open to receive.

Let your gratitude journal be the mirror to reflect back to you the abundance and prosperity you already have.

Own how blessed you are right here and now. In that wonderful energy, set the intention to step up to be, do, and have everything you came to this planet to be and do.

With the daily use of your gratitude journal, amp up your intention and energy to attract in even more abundance and prosperity.

As you appreciate day by day your beauty and grace of being the swan you already are, watch the pond fill up around with with all good things.

Then envision and hold onto the dream of spreading your wings and taking flight.
