Who is your gatekeeper?

Who is opening up the gates and letting the good times flow into your lap?

Who is holding back the flow, shutting down the stream, and locking up your gates to all the good stuff?

What if the answer to all three questions is the same? What if you are your own gatekeeper?

Here are four tips for finding out what your gatekeeper is up to:

1. Stop and listen to what your mind is thinking. Your ego mind can be rattling along nonstop without you consciously being aware of what it is thinking.

2. Take notes! Jot down just a key idea. Keep it short and to the point.

3. Check in with your gatekeeper. Look at your notes and see how often your ego was opening up the gates to wellness, joyful living, and compliments to everyone around you. Then notice how often your ego was shutting down your gates and going into fear, sarcasm, and judgment.

4. Take charge. Catch your gatekeeper in action. When the gates are open and you are in the flow, notice that and accept it graciously. When the gates are shut, shift your attitude with an affirmation, a grounding exercise, or a song that is really uplifting for you. Stay with it and imagine your gates opening up and a bigger than ever flow of goodness and well-being coming your way.

As Louise Hay said so well, there is not one to blame for your body or your life. And that includes not blaming yourself. Now that you know you are in charge of your own gates, you can create the body and life you would like to live with.
