Legends and myths about geese suggest they symbolize being on a journey or quest with courage, clarity, and connection.
Even the “V” formation they fly in looks like the tip of an arrow pointing them into a direction to go. They move with determination and purpose. I like to think that geese remind me to pay attention to what direction I’m going on my own journey through life.
No matter how far and wide their journey, they’re up there in the air high enough to get a clear view of where they are, and where they are going. That reminds me to ask for clarity in making my decisions, clarity in choosing my options, clarity in seeing the bigger picture about my life and my purpose.
Very rarely do you see a lone goose flying by itself. Both small and large clusters of geese hold their formation. Everyone takes a turn leading and following, honking encouragement to each other along the way. I love the sound of it. What an example of community and friendship. They remind me to stay connected to my Divine Source, and I’ll never journey alone.
